Automated And Accurate Inventory Control

OptiCrib is a completely automated inventory management system for your company’s storeroom, warehouse, outdoor trailer, or supply closet that uses MULTIPLE CAMERAS and other proprietary sensors to track every item taken from its shelves. The OptiCrib is a transformative technology that allows the shopper to grab-and-go. There is no scanning, no entering item numbers, no written forms, no RFID tags, and no direct interface with other personnel.

EASY TO USE!

OptiCrib provides an intuitive, frictionless shopping experience for any business to business inventory control environment. Whether you are managing direct or indirect materials, consignment inventory, or even when managing someone else’s inventory on their site, OptiCrib is the next level in automated solutions.

VALUE DELIVERED

OptiCrib radically reduces warehouse labor expense, and also reduces overall operating expense when compared to the various alternatives, including vending or RFID technologies.

Opticrib Solutions

The OptiCrib Cube

The Cube is the smallest pre-engineered solution we offer, and it is designed to replace inventory management applications that would typically be handled by a mix of five or six different styles of industrial vending machines. While the Cube represents a capital investment in line with the vending machines it would replace, the simplicity of operating a Cube allows suppliers and users to enjoy a vastly reduced operating expense.

The really big difference between the Cube and vending machines is that the Cube does not require special repackaging procedures (vending systems do), and the Cube holds on average ten times the inventory per SKU that a vending system will. That means lower operating expense through (a) simpler replenishment and (b) fewer replenishments.

Specifying Criteria

  • Size of enclosure: 10 feet wide, 10 feet long, and 10 feet high.
  • Camera count: Eight computer vision cameras.
  • Expected SKU management capacity: 500-to-640 SKUs (shelf goods).
  • Standard shelving arrangement: Our standard Cube arrangement includes eight (8) ruggedized steel shelving units (84 inches high x 36 inches wide), which will hold from fifty-six (56) to eighty (80) 18-inch-deep weight sensor outfitted shelves.

The OptiCrib Annex

The Annex is a step up in capacity from the Cube and is intended to house high velocity products that are typically managed within a larger warehouse or storeroom environment. The idea is to simplify the delivery of those products that are needed during every shift without requiring an attendant to manage the process. Effectively, the Annex is the entry level product for a self-serve storeroom solution.

Specifying Criteria

  • Size of enclosure: 16 feet wide, 16 feet long, and 10 feet high.
  • Camera count: Twelve computer vision cameras.
  • Expected SKU management capacity: 1,000-1,360 SKUs (shelf goods).
  • Standard shelving arrangement: Our standard Annex arrangement includes seventeen (17) ruggedized steel shelving units (84 inches high x 36 inches wide), which will hold from one hundred-nineteen (119) to one hundred-seventy (170) 18-inch-deep weight sensor outfitted shelves.

The OptiCrib Job Trailer

The Job Trailer is a fully accountable and autonomous supply room designed for outdoor use on construction sites or large capital projects. It is mobile and completely self-sufficient, needing only a temporary power connection to operate in all types of hostile climates. The Job Trailer is designed to be a modular component, and so if the client needs a larger mobile storeroom, the units join seamlessly in either “T” or end-to-end configurations (this actually increases the SKU capacity per trailer).

Because the Job Trailer is a self-sufficient package intended for outdoor supply management applications, we also expect permanent facilities to use our Job Trailer to expand the capacity of existing storerooms and warehouses outside the walls of the client’s facility.

Specifying Criteria

  • Size of enclosure (inside): 8.5 feet wide, 20.5 feet long, and 9.5 feet high.
  • Camera count: Eight computer vision cameras.
  • Expected SKU management capacity: 700-880 SKUs (shelf goods).
  • Standard shelving arrangement: Our standard Job Trailer arrangement includes eleven (11) ruggedized steel shelving units (84 inches high x 36 inches wide), which will hold from seventy-seven (77) to one hundred-ten (110) 18-inch-deep weight sensor outfitted shelves.

The OptiCrib General Store

The General Store was designed to be large enough to operate as a full-sized storeroom for smaller facilities. The modular concept of the General Store allows us to use the standard unit as a building block to accommodate larger storeroom areas in 20-foot by 30-foot increments. As an example, four units would easily convert a 2,400 square foot warehouse into an automated shopping environment.

Specifying Criteria

  • Size of enclosure: 20 feet wide, 30 feet long, and 10 feet high.
  • Camera count: twenty-four computer vision cameras.
  • Expected SKU management capacity: 2,500-to-3,680 SKUs (shelf goods).
  • Standard shelving arrangement: Our standard General Store arrangement includes forty-six (46) ruggedized steel shelving units (84 inches high x 36 inches wide), which will hold from three hundred-twenty-two (322) to four hundred sixty (460) 18-inch-deep weight sensor outfitted shelves.

How It Works

What Is The OptiCrib Shopping Process?

The frictionless OptiCrib shopping experience is as simple and intuitive for the user as it is sophisticated and unique on the back-end. The OptiCrib video demo (above) outlines the shopping and replenishment process, while the image to the right explains the components and functions that create the automated system we are offering. The five basic steps in the experience are listed below and tagged by step number to the image.

(STEP 1) Session Start

Secure access to the OptiCrib can be granted in a variety of ways depending on the company’s preference including one or more of the following: employee badge reader, smart phone app with QR code, verbal password, PIN number, or facial recognition. Entry starts the computer vision session.

(STEP 2) Product Look Up

To save time, products can be quickly located using the product finder on the Shopper User Interface. Product availability and other inquiries are also available remotely by your PC or any mobile device through the Inventory System.

(STEP 3) Activity Tracking

While shoppers are in the storeroom, strategically-placed cameras monitor the scene. Deep learning models running on local servers track and correlate shopping activity and products selected through these video feeds, monitoring up to one shopper per 100 square feet.

(STEP 4) Dynamic Cart

Activity tracking combined with A.I.-based product recognition, and in some cases weight signals, allow for the system to determine when employees interact with products and whether to add or subtract them from their basket.

(STEP 5) Checkout

After the shopper is finished, the employee reviews their order on the Shopper User Interface (the touchscreen tablet), as well as confirming their cost accounting selections. Upon exiting the storeroom, items that the employee took are charged against the GL code, project #, and dept # as designated by the employee, and a receipt is emailed to the employee. This data is then made available via direct XML integration with the accounting system or via CSV / spreadsheet.

ANY STOREROOM. ANY FORMAT. ANY SIZE

We also have the ability to retrofit an existing space or integrate our system into new builds.

Custom Warehouse Applications: When the customer application is outside the scope of our pre-engineered product line, OptiCrib can and will provide custom automated warehouse design solutions. As an example, if the square area or general layout of the installation space is irregular in various ways, the camera counts and locations must be optimized to space, requiring additional engineering. For these opportunities, a consultative process is used to specify the optimal application of our technology. In general, the design and installation processes are several weeks longer than for the delivery of our pre-engineered solutions, but the outcomes can be quite powerful.

In short, anywhere that a business or governmental enterprise is managing inventory and conveying replenishment orders to other businesses, our technology can help!
