About Us

Elizabeth started her sales career representing an industrial tool distributor before being recruited to represent one of the Midwest’s largest industrial laundry providers where she developed relationships with OEM manufactures as well as Tier I, II and III automotive suppliers.

After working several years with various manufactures Elizabeth and Verde VanSickle her husband decided to open their own industrial distribution company first located in New Baltimore Michigan, The Safety Source has grown to become one of the Midwest’s fastest growing industrial safety distributors. With a diverse product and service offering The Safety Source has carved out a niche in the industrial supply and services industry - offering start of the art ecommerce solutions, vendor managed inventory, vending solutions, industrial contract services with a team of professionals that design, install and repair LED lighting, pallet racking, mezzanines, Inplant offices, assets protection and numbers other custom solutions.

The Safety Source believes in being a supply partner by reducing redundancies, vendors and providing a streamlined procure to pay process.

Elizabeth has a deep love for animals and animal welfare donating both time and money to animal rescues and charity events. She enjoys boating on Lake St. Clair and traveling to various tropical locations.

Verde is a graduate of Ferris State University where he was awarded a Football Scholarship and received two Bachelors of Science Degrees - Business Administration & Management.

Verde started his career in Occupational Health & Safety when we accepted a position with Concentra Medical Centers the nation’s largest occupational health provider. Verde was promoted to Area Sales Manager and was responsible for the marketing and business development of 9 Medical Centers located throughout the Metro Detroit area.

Verde was recruited by Honeywell one of the world’s largest manufacturers of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to become the Automotive Specialist working with national and regional distribution channels throughout the Midwest.

After 3 years with Honeywell Verde was recruited by a local industrial distributor to become a Territory Sales Manager. Verde and Elizabeth decided they could provide businesses with better products, superior service at lower costs so they decided to open The Safety Source in New Baltimore Michigan in 2007. The Safety Source has grown to become one of the Midwest fastest growing industrial safety distributors. With significant investment into technology The Safety Source has launched a responsive e-commerce platform and inventory management software that will allow for improved service, faster order fulfillment and world class customer service.

Verde enjoys traveling and multiple live sporting events; he also has deep love for animals and enjoys helping Elizabeth with her charitable events.

 J. has worked in the industrial supply industry for 15 years. J. has held the position of Operations Manager in the manufacturing industry for 5 years. J. has held various sales, operations and managerial positions over the course of his career. He has been with The Safety Source for four years and enjoys the diversity of his customers and the fulfillment he gets when he helps a customer to save money and time. 

 J. is the father of 2 children 1 girl and 1 boy. He attended Henry Ford Community College and Davenport University and has a degree in Business Management. J. enjoys spending time camping with his children and watching our Detroit Sports Teams.

 Steve is a graduate of Eastern Michigan University with a Bachelors Degree in Electronic Media & Film. He previously held a position as Video Producer/Marketing Specialist/E-Commerce Content Specialist with Sportbike Track Gear. Steve enjoys photography, playing guitar, watching and supporting local sport teams.

Ashley is someone who truly enjoys the little things—whether it’s discovering a new favorite restaurant, collecting unique rocks and plants, or unwinding with great music. Outside of work, you’ll often find me spending quality time with my animals and my partner, making the most of every moment together. I’m passionate about what I do and feel grateful to love my job every single day.  

Based in the Metro Detroit area, Nicole brings nearly five years of marketing experience and a degree from Oakland University to her role as Inside Sales and Marketing Specialist at The Safety Source. She plays a dual role in supporting customer success—ensuring every customer receives the attention they deserve—while also collaborating closely with the marketing manager to develop campaigns, manage social media, and bring creative strategies to life. Nicole thrives on variety, creativity, and customer interaction, making every day a little different. Outside of work, she enjoys golfing, kayaking, and spending quality time with her partner Kyle, her friends, and her dog Sami.  

Joe is a dedicated member of the team who plays an important role in keeping our warehouse operations running efficiently. He helps ensure that inventory stays organized and that customer orders are processed and delivered on time. His attention to detail and reliability help support the level of service our customers expect.

Outside of work, Joe is a passionate sports fan who follows Detroit teams and the Oklahoma City Thunder. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his wife.
