The CGW 42840 flap disc is a 4-1/2 inch diameter, 7/8 inch arbor Type 27 unit designed for aggressive material removal and finishing on angles grinders. Its construction centers on PSG Ceramic grains, which are engineered to stay sharper longer, providing a cooler, faster cut with sustained durability. This results in efficient material removal with less heat buildup, helping to preserve workpiece integrity and extend tool life during extended grinding sessions.
The disc leverages CGW’s Ceramic Extreme II formulation, aimed at delivering long-lasting performance and versatility across a range of applications. The 36-grit PSG Ceramic composition is selected to balance aggressive material removal with a smoother finish typical of Type 27 configurations, making it suitable for contour work and edge work on curved or irregular surfaces. The combination of grain technology and a Type 27 configuration supports both flattening and blending tasks on metal surfaces.
Practical usage considerations include ensuring compatibility with standard 4-1/2 inch grinders and 7/8 inch arbors. The product is packaged as individual units, with a box quantity of 10, suitable for shop stocking and replacement needs. When selecting for a project, confirm that the workpiece geometry and material density align with 36-grit PSG Ceramic discs to optimize material removal rates and surface finishes while managing heat generation.
