The Gerson 020802G Tack Cloth in Gold Formula Standard is a surface-prep cloth designed to trap dust and particulates during final wipe-downs before finishing. It features a 20x16 mesh construction and a medium/high tack formulation that aims to remove fine debris without leaving residue on the workpiece, supporting cleaner paint and coating applications. The Gold Formula standard is offered in multiple substrate options to address varying surface-prep needs, with cotton gauze being one of the available choices. The combination of mesh size and tack level helps minimize lint and dust transfer, which can impact finish quality in automotive, woodworking, and industrial settings.
This product is provided in a roll format with a case quantity of one, and is specified in a 20x16 size with a gold color designation. The Gold Formula standard is noted as compatible with all paint types, including waterborne coatings, while white and orange formulas are available by special order. Practically, users should consider substrate choice (knit polyester, non-woven, or cotton gauze) based on surface texture and residue tolerance, as equipment housings, workbenches, and spraying environments can influence cloth wear and lint generation. Bulk availability supports high-volume operations where repeat, consistent prep is critical.
In terms of compatibility and handling, this tack cloth is intended for use in facility-maintenance and finishing workflows where a residue-free surface is essential prior to coating or sealing. Packaging is listed as a roll, with the case quantity being one, which may affect inventory planning and replenishment for shop floors and production lines. Always verify that the substrate selected aligns with the specific surface and coating system in use to achieve the desired surface preparation outcomes.
