The Gerson 020002G Tack Cloth in the GOLD FORMULA line is a high-tack, 18” x 36” tack cloth designed to prepare surfaces for painting and finishing by removing dust, dirt, and fine particulates prior to coating. Constructed from 100% bleached cotton gauze with a 20 x 16 mesh, it combines durability with the flexibility needed to conform to complex contours. The anti-static formulation helps prevent reattachment of loosened particles, contributing to a cleaner substrate without leaving residues that could interfere with adhesion or finish quality. The wax- and silicone-free composition supports reliable paint adhesion across a variety of coatings, including waterborne formulations. This makes the cloth suitable for automotive refinishing, woodworking, and industrial applications where a contaminant-free surface is critical.
Key construction details include a soft cotton mesh that contours to curved or irregular surfaces, aiding consistent dust capture without excessive abrasion. The universal Gold Formula is designed to perform across multiple paint systems, offering dependable preparation regardless of whether you’re working with solvent- or waterborne-based paints. As a packaged product, this cloth is provided in cases with a box quantity of 12 per box and 144 per case, making it practical for shop-wide stocking and consistent inventory management. Regular use should be paired with proper disposal practices, since contaminants collected on the cloth can be resettled if re-handled or reused improperly.
This product is positioned for facility maintenance and shop use where clean prep surfaces are essential to coating quality. Ensure you select the correct size for your workflow and confirm packaging fits your replenishment plan. The combination of high tack, non-residue performance, and non-interfering chemistry supports reliable surface preparation across a range of substrates and paint types.
