This 5-inch PSA (pressure-sensitive adhesive) disc features a blue very fine grade, equivalent to a 320 grit finish, which is suitable for light finishing and surface conditioning. The disc is impregnated with abrasive aluminum oxide grain to enable efficient material removal while maintaining a longer service life and resistance to loading, helping to reduce clogging during extended use.
Constructed to be used with compatible hook-and-loop backed systems, this disc promotes consistent abrasion across the workpiece, minimizing gouges and swirl marks when used with appropriate orbital or surface conditioning tools. The very fine grade provides a refined surface feel and improved satin or gloss levels, depending on the substrate and tooling speed. As with all PSA non-woven discs, care should be taken to match the machine rpm and overlap pattern to avoid heat buildup and to maintain uniform results across the work area.
Typical applications include conditioning stainless steel, aluminum, titanium and their alloys, as well as various composites, fiber glass, plastic and glass fiber.
