CGW 43901 5" X 7/8" Type 27 40-Grit XL PSG Ceramic Extreme II Flap Disc

The CGW 43901 flap disc is a 5 inch diameter, 7/8 inch arbor Type 27 flap disc engineered for aggressive material removal with a focus on heat management and durability. Built around PSG Ceramic grains, this disc is designed to stay sharper longer, enabling faster cuts and a cooler operation compared with conventional abrasive systems. The 40-grit configuration provides a balance between material removal rate and surface finish, suitable for heavy deburring, weld grinding, and edge shaping tasks on metal surfaces.

Construction features include a ceramic grain structure optimized for extended life in demanding grinding applications. The PSG Ceramic formulation is known for maintaining sharpness over extended use, contributing to productivity by reducing dwell time and rework. The Type 27 configuration offers an angled, flatter grinding surface intended for smoother contact with the workpiece and controlled material removal, which can help manage heat generation during longer grinding sessions.

Ideal use cases involve metal fabrication, maintenance, and repair work where a robust, long-lasting sanding solution is needed. Operators should select the 5" diameter and 7/8" arbor to match compatible grinders and mounting tools, ensuring correct fitment and balance. This product is packaged as an individual disc with a box quantity of 10, making it suitable for stocking rotation and job-site replenishment. For optimal performance, confirm that the tool’s speed and duty cycle align with the disc’s intended use and verify that the Workpiece material and finish are appropriate for a 40-grit PSG Ceramic flap disc.
