The CGW 45102 is a general-purpose cutting wheel designed for cutting steel. It features a 4-1/2 inch diameter, a thickness of 0.045 inch, and an arbor size of 7/8 inch, making it compatible with common angle grinders that accept Type 1 wheels. With a 60-grit aluminum oxide grain, this wheel aims to balance material removal rate with a reasonable finish, suitable for jobs where fast cutting is prioritized over a highly refined edge.
Constructed to operate at up to 13,300 RPM, the wheel adheres to standard performance expectations for aluminum oxide, a durable abrasive commonly used for metal cutting. The Type 1 configuration provides a flat-cut edge appropriate for straight-line cuts and general-purpose metalworking tasks. The package includes 25 wheels per box, which supports multi-item jobs or ongoing projects without frequent restocking. The grain and hardness designation helps users anticipate the aggressiveness and wear rate during cutting operations.
When selecting this wheel, ensure compatibility with your grinder’s arbor size and maximum RPM, and verify that the 4-1/2 inch diameter fits the equipment’s guard and clearance. For best results, align the wheel’s edge with the cut direction and follow all safety guidelines for metal-cutting operations, including heat buildup management and wheel inspection routines.
