CGW 63095 1-1/2" W x 50 yd L 40-Grit Brown Aluminum Oxide Abrasive Shop Roll

The CGW63095 1-1/2" W x 50 yd L 40-Grit Brown Aluminum Oxide Abrasive Shop Roll is a flexible abrasive solution designed for general-purpose material removal and finishing in a workshop or facility-maintenance setting. It combines a high-flexibility cotton cloth backing with a phenolic resin bond, which helps reduce grain shedding while maintaining consistent abrasion performance. The semi-friable aluminum oxide grains provide an aggressive cut with extended life, making it suitable for tasks that require steady material removal without frequent grain degradation.

This shop roll is engineered for use on applications such as plumbing work, components machined on lathes, and detailed finishing where a controlled, medium-coarse 40-grit level is appropriate. The combination of flexible backing and durable grain allows it to conform to curved surfaces and tight contours while delivering predictable, repeatable results. The product is described with a J-weight hardness, indicating a balance between rigidity and flexibility that supports stable contact pressure during sanding.

With a defined width and length of 1-1/2 inches by 50 yards, this roll format is intended for belt tools or compatible sanding systems that accept strip or roll substrates. The package size is one each, aligning with typical shop-roll purchases for ongoing projects or shared shop stock. When using this abrasive, ensure proper support and surface preparation to optimize grain life and finish quality, and follow standard safety practices for dust control and eye protection during sanding tasks.
