The CGW 63064 abrasive shop roll is a 1 inch wide, 50 yard length, 100-grit aluminum oxide roll designed for versatile material removal and finishing tasks in facility maintenance settings. Built on a bonded, flexible cotton cloth backing with a phenolic resin process, this roll delivers a balance of suppleness and durability, helping to minimize grain shedding during use while maintaining aggressive cutting action. The semi-friable aluminum oxide grains provide consistent sanding performance, making it suitable for a range of applications that require precise deburring, contouring, or finishing on metal surfaces.
This shop roll is well-suited for plumbing work, turning or polishing detailed parts on lathes, and other fine craftsmanship tasks where a controlled, fine-to-medium grit is advantageous. Its 1" width allows easy wrapping and maneuverability in tight spots, while the 50 yd length offers ample material for multiple projects or longer runs without frequent reloads. This product is packaged as a single unit, identified by the CGW63064 manufacturer part number, and should be used with compatible folds or dispensers designed for narrow abrasive rolls.
When selecting abrasive rolls, consider the rigidity of the workpiece, the desired surface texture, and the access available in the work area. The 100-grit specification indicates a finer finish relative to coarse grits, suitable for smoothing rather than heavy material removal. Maintaining the roll by keeping the work area clean and using proper technique will help maximize abrasive life and achieve consistent results.
