The Scotch MMM1456 Sure Start Packaging Tape is a clear, glossy tape designed for everyday carton sealing and packaging tasks in office or light industrial environments. With a 2.6 mil thickness and a 1.88 inch width on a 1 1/2 inch core, this tape provides a reliable seal for standard boxes while remaining easy to apply in a busy workspace. The clear acrylic-based adhesive is formulated to adhere well to common corrugated surfaces, helping to secure shipments with less relief of the box edges during handling.
Key to its everyday usability is the Sure Start feature, which promotes a smooth, quiet unwind from start to finish. This helps reduce noise and frustration in quiet offices or cubicles, where chatter and distractions can otherwise interrupt the taping process. The tape's composition supports consistent performance across typical office packaging needs, including sealing packages that may require multiple layers or longer-lasting seals for shipment and storage.
Packaged as a 6-pack, each roll is sized for regular box sealing tasks and is compatible with standard dispensers designed for 1.5 inch cores. Although the product description highlights suitability for heavy boxes and clean label coverage, the actual performance depends on box weight, tape tension, and surface cleanliness. When applying, ensure smooth contact with the box surface and avoid stretching the tape excessively to maintain a strong, uniform seal.
