The Gerson 020008G Ultra Prep XL Tack Cloth is a professional-grade wipe designed to prepare surfaces prior to painting. Measuring 18” x 18”, this medium-tack cloth uses an apertured non-woven substrate with synthetic hydro-entangled fibers, delivering durability, tear resistance, and a lint-free finish essential for clean surface prep. The dry formulation is wax- and silicone-free, anti-static, and compatible with all paint types, including waterborne coatings, helping to minimize dust and residue without introducing contaminants that could affect adhesion.
What sets this tack cloth apart is its balanced tackiness, which captures fine dust, dirt, and particulates effectively while avoiding over-adhesion that could pull at underlying coatings. The aperture structure aids particle pickup and trapping, supporting a smoother, cleaner substrate for subsequent paint applications. By eliminating surface contaminants without leaving residues, it supports better film formation and uniform adhesion across a variety of finishes.
For professional use, this cloth is packaged in a case with a box quantity of 10 per unit and 120 per case, making it suitable for shop-floor replenishment and ongoing project work. It is designed to work with all paints, including waterborne systems, and is intended for dry use to prevent smudges or streaks during prep. When selecting a tack cloth, consider the task at hand, the required level of particle removal, and the paint system to ensure optimal surface readiness.
