The Gerson Blend Prep XL Tack Cloth is a large-format, dry tack cloth designed to prepare surfaces prior to painting, refinishing, or coating. Sized at 18 by 18 inches, it provides broad coverage for bigger projects and helps speed up prep work by attracting and trapping dust, dirt, and particulates without leaving residues. The cloth uses an apertured nonwoven substrate with synthetic hydro-entangled fibers that are tightly bonded to enhance durability, tear resistance, and lint-free performance. Its anti-static, low-tack formula further reduces particle adherence to delicate surfaces while remaining compatible with all paint types, including waterborne coatings.
This tack cloth is wax- and silicone-free, which minimizes the risk of introducing film-forming contaminants on the work surface. The dry formulation is particularly suitable for sensitive surfaces, helping to remove fine particulates without wetting or saturating the area. The blend of materials and construction supports effective surface preparation across a range of projects, from automotive refinishes to architectural coatings, by providing a clean, ready-to-paint substrate.
For storage and setup, the cloth is packaged in cases with 10 cloths per box and 120 per case, according to the provided packaging details. When used as part of a prep routine, this size and configuration balance coverage with manageability, making it practical for professional shop workflows and larger prep jobs.
