The OEL AFW60SGHF-N is a 60 CAL arc flash hood assembled for switchgear environments, designed to provide protected head and face coverage as part of a comprehensive arc-rated ensemble. The hood integrates a non-metallic, non-conductive construction with dual fan mounting capability and a retro-fitted motion light, supporting improved visibility in hazardous areas. It includes a premium 40 CAL CLEAR HT lens with an anti-scratch and anti-fog coating to maintain clarity during use, and dual reinforced stitching to help endure demanding wear. The kit’s Switchgear Hood is paired with a Class E rated hard hat for combined head protection and a 60 CAL/cm² CAT4 rating, reflecting its alignment with high-level electrical safety standards.
Product construction relies on the 88/12 premium Indura cotton blend fabric, chosen for arc-rated performance while maintaining comfort for extended wear. The hood features standard switchgear styling and is designed with retro-fitted components to accommodate additional equipment like motion lighting and dual fan units, as described in the manufacturer’s feature set. Washing guidance notes accepting bleach and hydrogen peroxide for textile care, underscoring the need to follow proper laundering to preserve material integrity and protective performance.
This OEM configuration is intended for use in environments where arc flash hazards are present and NFPA 70E, CSA Z462, and ASTM F1506 compliance are relevant. The included hard hat and lens contribute to a complete face and head protection kit, suitable for maintenance and switchgear-related tasks. Package contents list each component as a single unit, and the product supports standard sizing and care practices pertinent to arc-rated PPE wearers.
