CGW 52875 is a wide, 37 inch by 75 inch abrasive belt designed for versatile metalworking and surface preparation. The belt uses aluminum oxide grain on an X-Weight backing and is closed coat, delivering rapid stock removal with extended belt life. This construction is well-suited for a range of materials encountered in facility maintenance, including ferrous metals, stainless steel, non-ferrous metals, as well as composites, plastics, and wood, making it a practical choice for multi-material shops or job sites that require flexible sanding options.
The aluminum oxide grain paired with an 80-grit size provides a balance between material removal rate and a finer finish option, while the X-Weight backing adds durability for abrasive belt applications that may involve longer runs or more aggressive feed rates. The closed-coat arrangement minimizes gaps between grains, which helps maintain consistent cutting action and a steadier finish across the belt’s life. This product ships in a box quantity of three belts per package, and the specification notes indicate 37" W x 75" L dimensions to fit compatible belt sanders designed for wide-format linings.
When selecting this belt, ensure your sander accommodates an 80-grit, aluminum oxide, X-Weight belt in the 37" x 75" format and that the workpiece material aligns with the listed compatible materials. For best results, verify mounting compatibility, tensioning requirements, and sand zone coverage on your equipment. Proper inspection of the belt for wear and edge integrity during operation is recommended to maintain consistent performance and finish quality.
