The CGW 52869 abrasive belt is designed for efficient material removal on a variety of substrates. Measuring 37 inches wide by 75 inches long, this belt is built with aluminum oxide grain on an X-Weight backing to balance durability with flexible, stable performance during extended use on flat or contoured surfaces.
The belt features a closed coat and a 220-grit specification, which together promote rapid stock removal while maintaining a reasonably long service life. This combination is suitable for ferrous metals, as well as stainless steel, nonferrous metals, composites, plastics, and wood, making it a versatile option for mixed-material work zones common in facility maintenance and metalworking environments.
Each belt is packaged individually, with a box quantity of five, enabling straightforward stocking and replacement planning. The X-Weight backing provides dimensional stability under heat and pressure, helping to resist tearing and edge wear during aggressive sanding tasks. When selecting abrasives for workflows that involve high material removal rates across multiple substrates, this CGW belt offers a dependable balance of aggressive cutting action and edge durability.
Consider ensuring compatibility with your belt attachment system and sanding setup, as belt width, length, and backing type influence mount fit and performance. Regular inspection for wear, backing integrity, and grain shedding will help determine replacement timing and maintain consistent finish quality across operations.
