CGW 51602 5" Dia 100-Grit Extreme Purple Ceramic Film PSA Sanding Disc

CGW 51602 5" Dia 100-Grit Extreme Purple Ceramic Film PSA Sanding Disc is designed for high-performance material removal on metal and hard alloys. This PSA (pressure-sensitive adhesive) disc uses a ceramic grain on a 5-inch diameter backing to deliver aggressive cutting with a consistent finish. The 100-grit specification indicates a relatively fine, smooth sanding action suitable for deburring, leveling, and refining surfaces after initial material removal. The Extreme Purple ceramic grain and open coat construction help maintain cutting efficiency while reducing clogging, aided by a stearate coating that resists loading during extended cycles.

Constructed on a C-weight latex paper backing with open coat technology, the disc balances flexibility and durability for frequent changes and resistance to tearing under typical grinding conditions. This combination supports a higher removal rate compared to conventional non-ceramic discs while aiming for stable surface finish consistency across the workpiece. While the disc is optimized for PSA mounting, operators should ensure proper pressure, tool RPM, and workpiece compatibility to achieve the intended balance between material removal and surface quality.

In practice, these discs are suited to applications that require fast material removal with a finer finish, such as deburring, edge blending, and surface refinement on metal components. The product is packaged with individual discs at a box quantity of 100, suitable for batch production environments or shop inventory, and the 5-inch diameter is a common size for portable grinders and angle grinders used in facility maintenance and metal fabrication settings.
