The CGW 51601 5" Dia 80-Grit Extreme Purple Ceramic Film PSA Sanding Disc is a high-performance abrasive designed for fast material removal with a refined finish. This 5-inch PSA (pressure-sensitive adhesive) disc uses a ceramic grain on an open coat, C-weight latex paper backing to deliver consistent cutting action and extended disc life. The extreme purple ceramic blend is engineered to resist loading while maintaining a steady, aggressive grind, making it suitable for applications that require rapid stock removal without frequent disc changes.
Key construction features include a premium ceramic grain for sharp, durable cutting edges and a stearate coating to minimize loading. The combination supports efficient sanding on hard materials and alloys, reducing heat buildup and preventing glazing during extended use. The open coat design ensures debris is cleared more effectively than tightly packed grits, helping maintain cutting performance across multiple passes. Each disc is PSA-backed for quick, tool-free mounting to compatible sanding tools, and is packaged with a box quantity of 50 discs for readily available replacements in production environments.
Consider this disc when you need reliable 5-inch PSA sanding media with high removal rates and resistive loading characteristics. Verify compatibility with your tooling (PSA attachment and 5" discs) and plan for routine asset maintenance by inspecting backing integrity and adhesive performance before long runs. This product is identified by CGW part number CGW51601 and is supplied in a 5" diameter, 80-grit configuration, suitable for industrial facility maintenance tasks requiring efficient, continuous sanding cycles.
