The CGW 51006 is a vitrified wheel bushing designed to be used with grinding or finishing wheels where a reduced bore is required. It features a 1/2 inch wide vitrified wheel bushing that begins with a 1-1/2 inch bore and reduces it to 1-1/4 inch, allowing compatibility with wheels or accessories that do not match a larger shaft or hub. This size reduction can help adapt standard vitrified wheel components for particular machines or fixtures without changing the wheel itself. The construction is described as a vitrified wheel bushing, a material choice common for high-heat and abrasive environments encountered in grinding operations, helping to maintain alignment and reduce unwanted movement between components during operation.
In practical use, this bushing supports setups where a wheel assembly requires a narrower bore than the wheel’s original hole, enabling secure mounting via appropriate clamping and alignment. Users should verify that the reduced bore dimensions align with the spindle or arbor they intend to fit, and ensure that the combined setup remains properly secured to maintain wheel balance and safety during operation. The product is packaged as an individual item (Each) with a box quantity of 1, which affects stocking and procurement planning. While the exact materials and tolerances are not listed in the provided data, treating this part as a standard vitrified wheel bushing suggests typical considerations for fit, shaft compatibility, and maintenance as part of normal wheel-mounting practices.
