The CGW 51018 is a 5-inch diameter sanding disc designed for versatile dry and wet sanding tasks. This 150-grit disc uses a premium aluminum oxide grain on a film backing, delivering a consistent finish with improved durability compared to traditional paper discs. The PSA (pressure-sensitive adhesive) attachment enables quick, secure mounting to compatible sanding tools, helping to reduce downtime during setup and changes.
Construction features a .003 inch Mylar film backing that provides a combination of rigidity and pliability, contributing to even material removal and longer disc life in demanding applications. The film backing is noted for greater longevity, with claims of up to four times the life of comparable paper discs in some use cases, which can translate to fewer disc changes and lower operating costs over time.
This disc is suitable for general surface preparation, finishing, and blending tasks on metal and other substrates where aluminum oxide is appropriate. When selecting this disc, consider its 150-grit level for medium-fine finishing and its PSA format for fast, tool-compatible installation. The packaging lists a box quantity of 100 discs, each ready to load onto compatible quick-change or hook-and-loop systems where PSA discs are supported by the tool’s pad. Regular inspection and replacement aligned to wear will help maintain consistent surface quality and productivity.
