CGW 39452 4-1/2" X 5/8"-11 Type 27 40-Grit XL A3 Aluminum Oxide Flap Disc

CGW 39452 4-1/2" x 5/8"-11 Type 27 40-Grit XL Aluminum Oxide Flap Disc is designed for efficient material removal on a variety of substrates. This disc features premium aluminum oxide grain bonded to a polyester backing, delivering consistent cut rates and durability for both ferrous and non-ferrous metals as well as plastics and wood. The Type 27 profile provides an angled contact suitable for shaping, deburring, and contour grinding on uneven surfaces, helping to maintain control in close-quarters work. The XL construction implies an extended-use design intended to increase lifecycle over standard flap discs, supporting uninterrupted progress in demanding applications.

Constructed with a 4-1/2 inch diameter and a 5/8-11 arbor size, this flap disc is compatible with common right-angle grinders used in shop environments, fabrication shops, and maintenance workflows. The 40-grit rating offers a balance between material removal rate and surface finish, making it a practical choice for preparing welds, deburring burrs, and smoothing rough edges prior to finishing. The disc is rated for operation up to 13,300 RPM, so operators should match grinder speed to the product specification and ensure proper guarding and PPE are used during grinding tasks. The packaging indicates a box quantity of 10 discs per box, which supports bulk purchases and steady supply for ongoing maintenance activities.
