The Savety Yellow SYP-DG-10 Dock Gate is a gate barrier designed to create a visible safety perimeter for overhead doors and dock openings. This unit is constructed to bolt to a post and features a high-visibility yellow finish, aiding awareness to help prevent accidental entry into restricted areas during deliveries or shipments. An air actuation cylinder keeps the gate open when access is required, then allows the barrier to close to protect the opening when needed, supporting OSHA-related fall-protection practices in loading zones.
The gate assembly uses a 4.5" x 2" carbon steel post with 1.5" aluminum rails, combining strength with lighter weight components for manageable installation and maintenance. The top rail height reaches 42 inches, delivering a substantial barrier in front of dock openings, while the design accommodates different opening widths with available clear openings in 8', 10', or 12' configurations to fit varying dock profiles. The unit is powder coated in safety yellow for durability and high visibility, which contributes to quicker recognition of the restricted area by personnel and drivers alike.
Use of this dock gate supports safer dock operations by defining stop points and preventing unauthorized access to moving doors during loading or unloading. The product is available with optional 1/2" x 3 3/4" wedge anchors for secure mounting if needed. When planning installation, consider the 120" overall width and 42" height as key dimensions, and ensure compatibility with existing posts and doorway configurations. Maintenance involves periodic inspection of the air cylinder mechanism and the rails to confirm smooth operation and continued visibility of the barrier.
