The Savety Yellow SYP-DG-08 Dock Gate is a visibility-height barrier designed to help manage overhead door openings and reduce the risk of accidental entry or collision during deliveries and shipments. This dock door gate features a 42-inch tall rail and an 8-foot clear opening, providing a palpable visual cue and physically prevents access to blocked loading areas while allowing staff to move freely around the doorway when needed. The assembly uses a 4.5-inch by 2-inch carbon steel post with 1.5-inch aluminum rails, all finished in powder-coated safety yellow to enhance visibility and corrosion resistance in industrial settings.
A key practical detail is the air actuation cylinder, which holds the gate open during deliveries or shipments, enabling hands-free operation for loading dock workflows. The unit is built to meet OSHA-related expectations for fall protection through its sturdy construction and reliable operation, supporting safer dock activities without impeding throughput. For installation, 1/2-inch by 3 3/4-inch wedge anchors are available upon request to secure the post system to concrete substrates, providing a straightforward mounting option when compatible anchors are needed.
This model is offered as an 8-foot option with a clear opening of 8 feet, and is also available in 10- or 12-foot variants to accommodate different dock configurations. The package size is listed as each, with color specified as yellow, and overall dimensions of 96 inches in width and 42 inches in height, aligning with typical loading dock dimensions. Proper maintenance would involve periodic inspection of the actuator, rails, and post connections to ensure continued performance and safety in busy loading environments.
