The Sharpie SAN35554 Permanent Paint Marker is an oil-based marker designed for high-visibility marking on a variety of surfaces. Its opaque yellow ink provides strong contrast on light or dark materials, making it suitable for labeling metal, pottery, wood, rubber, glass, plastic, stone, and more. The ink dries quickly and is resistant to water, fading, and abrasion, helping the mark stay legible in demanding environments. The formulation is xylene-free, aligning with lower-odor considerations often preferred in office or workshop settings.
Constructed for reliable performance, this marker is categorized as permanent and is designated for artist-quality marking with a medium bullet tip that delivers a balanced line width for both broad coverage and fine detail. The packaging indicates a single-marker option, making it convenient for individual projects or replacement when refills aren’t desired. While the product page does not specify country of origin or warranty details, the marker’s compatibility with a wide range of common substrates supports use in general facility, MRO, and art-related tasks where durable, legible marks are required.
When choosing this marker, consider the surface texture and ambient conditions: non-porous surfaces may require initial pre-testing for color visibility, and rough or textured surfaces can influence line consistency. Since the ink is oil-based and fast-drying, allow brief cure time before handling to minimize smearing on delicate items. This item is listed as a single-pack option, suitable for individual projects or as a replenishment part in a wider labeling toolkit.
