The Gerson 020001R Tack Cloth is a cost-conscious solution designed for thorough dust and debris removal during surface preparation. Crafted from 100% bleached cotton gauze, this tack cloth uses a high-tack formulation to pick up fine particulates while remaining soft and flexible enough to conform to complex contours. The 20 x 12 mesh size supports effective particle capture without sacrificing ease of use, making it suitable for automotive refinishing, woodworking, and other industrial painting tasks where a clean substrate is essential.
Key construction details include an anti-static formula that helps minimize recontamination and reduces the risk of transferring static charges to freshly prepared surfaces. The cloth is wax- and silicone-free, which helps ensure compatibility with a wide range of coatings, including waterborne paints, by avoiding potential interference with film formation. The material is soft yet durable, allowing it to contour to irregular surfaces and edges without tearing under typical hand-use conditions.
Practical usage considerations include its disposable nature, with the specified packaging indicating a case contains multiple boxes and a larger case quantity for bulk procurement. This makes it convenient for shop environments that require repeated surface prep steps across multiple projects. For best results, use as part of a cleanroom-like workflow where surface particulates are minimized prior to coating application and cure, and ensure surfaces are dry and free of oils that could inhibit adhesion.
In terms of compatibility and sizing, the product is identified by the manufacturer part number 020001R and is categorized under Facility Maintenance. The packaging specifies the product is distributed in box quantities of 12 per box and 144 per case, aligning with typical industrial supply needs for consistency and inventory planning.
