The PIP 280-HP940-15 is a lightweight, ventilated bump cap designed to protect against incidental head bumps and scrapes in environments with low hazard overhead contact. Built with a durable HDPE shell, this helmet-style cap prioritizes comfort and airflow for extended wear in settings where head impact is possible but not classified as heavy-duty risk. Its ventilated design helps reduce heat buildup while on the job, contributing to wearer comfort during long shifts in facilities or industrial spaces.
The cap features a 4-point HDPE pin-lock suspension with a foam sweatband, which works to secure the cap firmly to the head while distributing pressure for improved all-day wearability. The combination of the shell and suspension is intended to provide a practical safeguard against accidental bumps and scrapes encountered in food processing, manufacturing, maintenance, and service environments. It is important to note that this product is described as a low hazard bump cap and is not stated to meet or be tested to any formal safety standards.
When selecting this bump cap, consider the intended tasks and overhead risk profile. It is suitable for facilities where head contact with fixtures or equipment is a possibility but where more stringent head protection ratings are not required. The product is sized and packaged in a way typical for bump caps, and maintenance generally involves inspecting the suspension and sweatband for wear and clean, dry storage when not in use. Verify fit and comfort during initial wear to ensure proper coverage and secure placement in daily operations.
