The PIP 148-6000 Top Grain Goatskin Leather Protector is designed to be worn over Class 1–4 rubber insulating Novax gloves to provide mechanical protection for the glove surface. This leather protector is not intended for electrical protection per ASTM F696-02, and thus serves as an additional layer to shield the rubber glove from wear and puncture during handling and work that involves abrasion or contact with sharp edges.
Constructed from top grain goatskin leather, the protector offers a balance of softness, abrasion resistance, and tactile sensitivity. The split leather gauntlet cuff extends forearm protection while allowing for quick removal when needed. A straight thumb design enhances comfort in closed-fisted work, and a nylon strap with a buckle ensures a secure, personalized fit. Color coded hems aid quick size identification in busy environments, helping to reduce selecting the wrong size during PPE donning.
Recommended use involves pairing with compatible Novax class rubber insulating gloves, using the leather protector to extend glove life in mechanical tasks that do not involve electrical work. The package is listed as a pair, with standard packaging of 24 pairs per case, which supports bulk purchasing for teams or procurement cycles. For best results, inspect the protector for wear at the leather surface and ensure the strap buckle is secure before each use to maintain proper fit and protection.
