The CGW 52274 is a 5-inch diameter sanding disc designed for high-performance material removal on a variety of substrates. Featuring 60-grit ceramic grain, this hook-and-loop disc provides aggressive cutting while maintaining a consistent finish. The ceramic abrasive type is known for its ability to turn over fresh sharp edges, helping to sustain effective stock removal through extended use.
Construction details include a C-weight latex paper backing with an open coat, combined with a stearate coating to resist loading. This anti-clogging feature helps maintain cutting efficiency in dusty or debris-heavy work environments, reducing downtime due to disc loading. The disc is designed for use with standard 5-inch hook-and-loop fastening systems and is packaged in a 50-disc box, offering inventory convenience for frequent users and facilities with ongoing maintenance needs.
Suitable applications include metalworking and fabrication tasks where aggressive material removal is required, along with finishing steps where a consistent abrasive texture is important. When selecting disc size and backing, ensure compatibility with your sander’s arbor and hook-and-loop interface. Regular inspection for wear and proper alignment will help maximize performance and disc life within your expected workflow.
