The CGW 52651 6-inch PSA sanding disc is designed for general-purpose surface finishing in facility maintenance and industrial settings. This disc uses an aluminum oxide grain on a tough X-weight cloth backing, engineered for durability during extended sanding jobs and higher stock removal. The PSA (pressure-sensitive adhesive) mount allows for quick, centerless disc changes on compatible automatic or handheld sanding tools, helping maintain workflow without frequent downtime for disc changes.
A 6-inch diameter is a standard size for many commercial grinders and palm sanders, and the 80-grit level provides a balance between material removal and surface finish quality. The X-weight resin bond supports more aggressive use on metal and other substrates while maintaining disc integrity under typical shop conditions. Each disc is built to deliver consistent cutting performance from start to finish, with the aluminum oxide grain known for its hardness and abrasion resistance.
Practical use considerations include ensuring the disc is mounted on a compatible PSA-attachment tool and verifying that the disc is appropriate for the material and desired surface finish. The packaging indicates a unit quantity of one disc per item with a box quantity of 50, which may influence stocking decisions for continuous operations. As always, users should follow manufacturer recommendations for disc selection, tool speed, and safety procedures to maximize performance and maintain efficiency in maintenance or fabrication tasks.
