The CGW 49956 is a 5-inch diameter hook-and-loop sanding disc designed for high-performance material removal on metal and other hard surfaces. The disc features a full phenolic bond with heat-treated aluminum oxide grain, delivering a uniform scratch pattern and consistent cut across the disc’s life. An open-coat construction favors aggressive initial material removal while maintaining extended product life, making it suitable for applications that require fast stock removal without premature loading.
Manufactured with stearated paper to improve handling and reduce chipping, this gold-weight disc is designed to resist tearing under demanding use. The combination of a strong tear-resistant backing and a durable aluminum oxide grain supports repeated use in workshop or facility-maintenance settings where reliability and predictable performance matter. The 60-grit size provides a balance of material removal rate and surface finish, appropriate for intermediate sanding tasks and surface preparation prior to finishing.
Ideal for use on ferrous and non-ferrous metals, these discs are configured for quick attachment to standard hook-and-loop sanders. Each disc is sized for 5
