The CGW 38013 6" x 1" x 1" T1 A-46M 46-Grit Brown Aluminum Oxide Bench & Pedestal Grinding Wheel is designed for general stock removal, sharpening, deburring, and shaping tasks on bench and pedestal grinders. This wheel features brown aluminum oxide grain, selected for versatile performance across a range of ferrous materials and common grinding operations. The wheel is sized for 6" diameter, 1" thickness, and 1" arbor/shank compatibility, making it a suitable replacement option for many standard bench grinders and pedestal setups.
Constructed as a Type 1 wheel with a medium (M) hardness grade, it offers reliable cutting action at a rated RPM of 4456, enabling steady material removal while maintaining wheel integrity under typical shop workloads. The 46-grit designation indicates a balance between material aggressive removal and finishing quality, suitable for tasks like deburring and shaping where a finer surface is not required. These characteristics help users select a wheel that aligns with common fabrication, maintenance, and metalworking workflows.
When selecting for use, ensure your grinder’s arbor size matches the 1" shank and that operators follow standard safety procedures for grinding wheels, including proper wheel guards and personal protective equipment. The packaging is listed as a single wheel per package, which is important for inventory planning and replacement cycles in busy maintenance environments. This wheel is positioned as a general-purpose option within facility maintenance, supporting routine material stock removal and shaping applications across a variety of metalworking tasks.
