CGW 34683 8" X 3/4" X 1-1/4" T5 WA-46H 46-Grit White Aluminum Oxide Surface Grinding Wheel

CGW 34683 is an 8-inch diameter, 3/4-inch thick surface grinding wheel designed for heavy stock removal and precise finishing on a range of materials. The wheel features WA-46H white aluminum oxide grain, which is well-suited for grinding heat-sensitive steels and high-speed steels, providing a balance of cutting action and polish on surfaces where heat buildup must be managed. The Type 5 wheel configuration supports deep grinding with a robust, consistent cut, making it appropriate for shop environments where dependable, repeatable results are required.

Constructed for performance in surface grinding operations, this wheel is specified with a 1-1/4 inch arbor/shank size to fit compatible grinders and ensure stable mounting during use. The H hardness grade indicates a relatively rigid wheel that maintains shape under heavy cuts, which helps achieve uniform material removal and a consistent finish. The 46-grit specification denotes a coarse texture aimed at rapid material removal while still delivering a controllable surface quality aligned with common metalworking tolerances.

When selecting this wheel, consider the material hardness and heat sensitivity of the workpiece, as well as the grinder’s RPM compatibility—listed at 3600 RPM for this wheel. The package is delivered as a unit per item, with box quantities available to support bulk procurement. For best results, ensure proper wheel mounting, guards, and coolant or dry grinding practices appropriate to the grinding operation to manage heat and achieve desired surface finishes.
