CGW 43872 4-1/2" X 5/8"-11 Type 29 60-Grit XL PSG Ceramic Extreme II Flap Disc

CGW 43872 4-1/2 inch diameter, 5/8-11 threaded hub Type 29 flap disc featuring 60-grit PSG Ceramic for use on right-angle grinders. This disc is designed to deliver cooler cutting and extended life by employing Precision Shaped Grain (PSG) Ceramic grains, which are engineered to stay sharper longer than conventional abrasive grains. The PSG Ceramic formulation aims to provide faster material removal and durable performance under demanding grinding and blending tasks, reducing overall tool downtime. The Type 29 flute-back design helps maintain aggressive cutting action while offering control for contouring and shaping curves on metal surfaces. Each disc is sized for standard 4-1/2 inch wheels with a 5/8-11 thread to fit common right-angle grinders used in welding, fabrication, and general metalworking environments. The product is packaged as individual units with a typical box quantity of 10, suitable for maintenance shops stocking multiple discs for ongoing projects.

When selecting this flap disc, consider the material you are working with and the required finish. PSG Ceramic technology is intended to provide a balance between aggressive material removal and longer grain life, which can translate to fewer disc changes during longer grind cycles. The 60-grit size is commonly used for deburring, edge breaking, and blending tasks on steel and similar alloys, offering a noticeable balance between aggressive cutting and smoother finishing. Ensure compatible tooling and proper grinding technique to maximize disc life and performance, and follow all safety guidelines for wheel guards and PPE during operation.
