CGW 42852 4-1/2" X 7/8"Type 29 60-Grit PSG Ceramic Extreme II Flap Disc

CGW 42852 is a 4-1/2 inch diameter, 7/8 inch arbor/shaft size Type 29 flap disc designed for aggressive material removal and finishing in grinding applications. The disc utilizes Precision Shaped Grain (PSG) Ceramic abrasive technology, which is engineered to stay sharper longer, contributing to cooler operation, faster material removal, and extended life relative to conventional aluminum oxide and zirconia discs. The 60-grit PSG Ceramic formulation is intended to balance rapid stock removal with smoother surface finish on a variety of metals, making it suitable for heavy- and medium-duty grinding tasks where durability and process efficiency are important.

Key construction and distinguishing features include the PSG Ceramic grains and a Type 29 profile, which is typically used for grinding at an angled, feathered edge that helps blend and finish surfaces while flattening irregularities. This combination aims to provide long-lasting performance under demanding workloads, with the expectation of reduced clogging and consistent cutting action due to the grain’s sharpening behavior. The disc is packaged as individual units in a box of 10, offering a convenient count for maintenance or shop use.

This flange-style flap disc is compatible with standard 4-1/2 inch angle grinders and uses a 7/8 inch arbor. When selecting discs, verify fitment with your grinder’s spindle and guard clearances, and consider the Type 29 profile for applications requiring a more aggressive edge and wider contact area. For best results, match the grit to your material and desired finish, and follow grinder safety practices and manufacturer recommendations for wheel speed and dressing when needed.
