The CGW 42125 4" x 5/8" Type 29 80-Grit Zirconia Flap Disc is designed for aggressive stock removal on steel surfaces. This flap disc combines premium zirconia alumina grain with a poly/cotton backing, yielding a durable abrasive that provides efficient material removal while maintaining a reasonable finish. The zirconia composition contributes to higher stock removal rates, making it suitable for heavy-duty grinding tasks encountered in fabrication, maintenance, and repair environments. An active grinding aid is included to help reduce heat buildup, enabling lighter pressure during cutting without sacrificing performance.
Constructed as a Type 29 flared disc, it is intended for use with standard 4-inch grinding tools and features a 5/8-11 inch arbor size for compatibility with common machines. The disc is rated for high RPM operation, supporting up to 15,300 RPM, which aligns with typical speed ranges for steel grinding applications. Each package contains ten discs, facilitating stocking and replacement during demanding workflow schedules. While this description outlines its material composition and performance attributes, users should rely on their equipment manufacturer recommendations for correct speed settings and verification of compatibility with their specific tool and workpiece requirements.
