The CGW 79008 4-1/2" diameter by 7/8" thick ceramic purple fiber disc is designed for high-performance grinding applications where heavy material removal is required. This 24-grit ceramic disc offers a distinct advantage in cutting efficiency and heat management, helping to maintain a cooler operation and prolong tool life during demanding surface preparation tasks. The purple fiber backing supports consistent abrasive contact and helps sustain disc integrity under heavy usage conditions.
Constructed with Extreme Ceramic grains, this disc is formulated to stay sharper longer than conventional aluminum oxide or zirconia options, enabling faster material removal and extended service intervals. The disc is suited for high-pressure grinding scenarios where aggressive stock removal is necessary, making it a practical choice for metalworking and maintenance tasks that demand durability and reliability from a flexible, fiber-backed disc.
For purchasing considerations, each disc is packaged individually, with a box quantity of 25, supporting inventory management and reduced handling. Users should select these discs for applications where rapid material removal is paired with heat-conscious grinding, and ensure compatible mounting on appropriate right-angle grinders or machinery that support 4-1/2" discs with 7/8" arbor sizing. Maintain proper PPE and follow manufacturer guidelines for wheel usage, including restraint and wheel speed ratings, to achieve optimal performance and safety.
