CGW 48033 7" Dia x 7/8" aluminum oxide brown fiber disc provides a ready-to-use grinding accessory for metalworking tasks. This 7 inch diameter, 7/8 inch arbor/shank size fiber disc is constructed with a heavy-duty vulcanized fiber backing and a sharp, heat-treated aluminum oxide grain. The grain is electrostatically coated to the backing to promote even wear and consistent cutting action, supporting longer disc life and efficient stock removal on steel surfaces. The brown fiber material is designed to maintain rigidity under use while allowing cooling during grinding, which helps manage heat build-up in workpieces.
When selecting this disc, its 150-grit aluminum oxide composition is suitable for general purpose material removal and finishing on ferrous metals. The combination of grain hardness and fiber backing contributes to stable performance at typical shop speeds, with the backing providing support that helps prevent gouging and helps maintain a flat grinding surface. This product is sized for compatibility with standard 7" grinders and aligns with common 7/8" arbor requirements, making it suitable for use with compatible tooling in metal fabrication, maintenance, repair, and operations environments.
Each unit is packaged individually or in a quantity of 25 per box, depending on purchasing configuration. Proper use requires selecting the appropriate grit for the desired finish and ensuring compatible mounting hardware. Periodically inspect discs for wear, cracks, or glazing, and replace when performance declines to maintain consistent material removal and surface quality.
