CGW 48010 4-1/2" diameter by 7/8" arbor, 16-grit aluminum oxide brown fiber disc. This industrial abrasive disc is designed for heavy stock removal on steel while maintaining cool cutting action. The grain is aluminum oxide, electrostatically coated onto a heavy-duty vulcanized fiber backing, which contributes to durable performance under demanding grinding applications. The combination of a 4-1/2" diameter and a 7/8" arbor makes it compatible with standard right-angle grinders common in facility maintenance and metal fabrication environments.
This disc is intended for use with appropriate grinders capable of handling 13,300 RPM, ensuring the disc operates within its designed speed rating for safe and effective material removal. The 16-grit sizing indicates a coarse abrasive profile suitable for aggressive work such as deburring, shaping welds, or removing heavy oxide layers on steel surfaces. The packaging specifies individual discs, with multiple units per package to support ongoing maintenance tasks.
Practically, users should confirm spindle compatibility and ensure correct mounting to avoid imbalance during operation. Maintain appropriate personal protective equipment and follow all grinder safety guidelines. While this description references the item’s construction and performance attributes, always verify that the disc’s RPM rating and arbor size match your grinder’s specifications before use.
