The Savety Yellow 11-12' PVC Retractable Fabric Gate is a ventilation-friendly safety barrier designed for dock doors that remain intermittently open. It provides a visible, physical boundary to deter entry by unauthorised personnel and to reduce the ingress of insects, birds, and debris while still allowing air to flow through the workspace. The gate retracts with minimal effort, requiring approximately 3 pounds of pull force to extend, and employs a ratchet mechanism to maintain appropriate tension. A locking feature helps prevent unwanted entry when the barrier is stationed across a doorway or opening.
Constructed with an 18 oz PVC mesh, the fabric offers breathability to support workspace airflow. The gate stands 48 inches tall and accommodates openings up to 12 feet wide, making it suitable for standard dock door sizes where open-door operation occurs. A small base gap helps deter crawling intrusion while still allowing smooth closure and retraction. The device is described as meeting OSHA-related fall protection expectations in the source material, and it carries an impact rating of 1000 lbs at 4 mph, indicating resilience under incidental contact as part of a doorway safety system. Lead time can vary, with a note that orders may experience a 2–3 week delay.
This retractable barrier is intended for facility maintenance environments where temporary door control is needed without fully blocking airflow or workspace access. When selecting a location, ensure the opening does not exceed 12 feet and that the mounting surface can support the retraction and tension mechanics. The product is sold as a single unit with a height of 48 inches and a color specified as yellow for high visibility in busy dock areas.
