Collision awareness will always be crucial to the operation of every firm. Wyman-Gordon reached out to The Safety Source for a solution to their forklift traffic and collision awareness problem. The Safety Source did a full walk-through of their facility to find any blind spots, corners, office areas, and any other potential areas where a fork truck collision could happen.

For blind corners and intersections, installed Savety Yellow Look Out Alert Warning Systems. For office areas, installed Savety Yellow Office Door Monitors. For areas with overhead doors, installed Savety Yellow Overhead Door Monitor Systems. For areas with any hallways, installed Savety Yellow Hall Door Monitor Systems. Each of these systems uses motion sensors and lights to alert both pedestrians and operators of oncoming traffic.

"The way our new system works is actually quite simple, however very effective", said Lawrence Kosmalski  Environmental Health and Safety Manager at Wyman-Gordon. "The Safety Source hit a grand slam with this one".

In the coming months, Wyman-Gordon and The Safety Source will monitor fork truck traffic to determine if any additional alert systems are needed. No matter what kind of collision awareness system you have in place, at the end of the day it's up to you and your employees to keep your eyes and ears open and be aware of your surroundings.
