Cogan structural cantilever racking is what you need for handling medium- to extra heavy-duty loads. Ideal for storing short, long or awkwardly-shaped items, our cantilever racking features a special arm system designed for easy front loading without obstruction. Structural steel components guarantee superior strength. Punched holes run the full height of each column upright, providing excellent adaptability and versatility for all of your storage requirements. Built for the toughest industrial applications, all connections use high-strength structural grade bolts.
Structural Arms
Structural arms are composed of a beam welded to a plate connection and are manufactured angled at an incline of 1.5° or 3° from the horizontal. The number of arms required for a specified column is determined by the client. This will affect the overall design of the cantilever racking system. The arms are classified as either MD or HD which indicates the load bearing capabilities of the arms. MD implies light duty and HD means heavy duty. When configuring the number of arms required per column it is important to take into consideration two factors; the maximum capacity per column and the maximum capacity per arm. The total combined weight capacity of the arm should not exceed the maximum capacity of each column.

Columns
The rack columns are a major component of the cantilever system. They are categorized into two types: LD Columns and HD Columns depending on the width. Rack columns are the vertical structural elements that support the rack arms and roof arms and transfer gravity loads to the rack base and anchoring slab. It is very important to note that the column type is determined by a Cogan engineer based on the quantity of arms and the maximum load capacity per arm. It is essential to refer to the assigned Cogan quote or Cogan Approval Drawings for detailed column and storing material.

Removable And Fixed Stopper Pins
The removable and fixed stopper pins are used to help prevent the product materials from slipping or rolling off the rack arms. There are four different types of stopper pins: removable or fixed stopper pins, welded arm stopper lips and welded angle arm stoppers. Angle arm stoppers are welded on top of each arm to keep materials centered on the arms.

Shelf Overlays - Beam Support
Cantilever racking can also be used for shelving applications. With the installation of beam supports, the racking can be modified and made into a shelving system. Beam supports provide additional reinforcement for heavy or unevenly distributed loads. Wire mesh shelf overlays are fastened on top of the beam supports to create a smooth surface for the storage of smaller items.

Arm Accessories
Two arm accessories are available to support material. The first is a welded “V” bracket, which is welded along the entire length of the rack arm along the top flange. The “V” brackets are primarily designed for coils. The second arm accessory is the “U” bracket, which is a bracket welded to the top flange of the rack arm. A rod is extended along the two cantilever arms and slotted into the brackets, which acts as a support to carry rolled material. The arms are powder coated Cogan grey.

Ideal for protecting stored materials from harsh weather conditions, the angled roof design allows rain to flow down easily and shields against snow, ice and sun damage. Powder-coated structural steel components and heavy-duty treated wood joists provide superior strength and durability. Lost or damaged material due to severe weather is significantly reduced, saving you costly replacement expenses.
L-Shed
The roof deck is made of galvanized steel which is screwed onto each wood beam with waterproof #8” x 1 ¾” hex head tek screw with a rubber seal. Each roof panel must overlap the previous one and must be screwed in accordingly. The L-Shed roof may be placed flush against a wall or can have the roof steel deck extend 6” but only if back panels are installed. The back panels are supported by 2“x 4” wood beams. The shed must extrude 6” from the edge of the rack arms for the L-shed.
